  • Matching the rubrics to job responsibilities and establishing priority performance areas
  • Beginning to identify performance evidence
  • Planning the evaluation cycle and formative and summative processes

Learn how School ADvance will make administrator evaluation:

  • Practical—with gradual, manageable steps to full implementation
  • Professional—embedding evaluation practices and protocols into the work administrators are already doing, helping them do it even better.
  • Personal—customized for each administrator's goals, growth, and job responsibilities

The School ADvance Evaluation System offers a comprehensive set of components that help drive improved administrative leadership for improved teaching and student results:

  • Full (detailed) performance rubrics for formative assessment to help administrators continually improve through explicit descriptors of administrator practice
  • Summary rubrics and scoring guides for summative evaluations that comply with State requirements
  • Results standards for addressing student growth components
  • Guides, protocols, and practices to facilitate implementation
  • Training & support in implementing the System and using it to promote learning and growth
  1. School ADvance Basic Training is meant to be done with the entire administrative team, since they will be active participants in their own evaluation.
  2. The two days are a facilitated work session with your team in which you will take significant steps toward your first-year implementation.
  3. Participants should bring a laptop computer with a USB port (if possible). For district teams, it works just fine to have one computer shared by two people (no more than two to a computer please).
  4. The trainings have the greatest value for administrators who have:
    • Reviewed their current goals: district/building/personal growth goals.
    • Identified in advance two or three priority goals for the first year.
    • Reviewed the School ADvance Rubrics (Principal rubrics for building leaders; District Administrator rubrics for central office/superintendent leaders (Rubrics are available here).

Lunch will be provided each day.

(There is also a license fee per building – MASA will share more information at the training)
