Introduction to Digital Video Editing

Have you always wanted to learn how to create a digital video? Now’s your chance. This session will teach participants how to combine video clips, photographs, text, and transitions to create a short movie. You will learn how to adjust audio, add titles, layer music or sound effects to make a more impactful video. Bring your creativity and we’ll supply the media files and instruction. This session will incorporate instructor-led demonstration and hands-on guided practice with media files provided by the instructor.



Session Outcomes

At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to create a video from photographs and video clips with title, music, and transitions.

Target Audience

Anyone new to video editing

Workshop Length

90 minutes


The workshop will cover:


  • Project setup

  • File import

  • Editing in the timeline

  • Adding titles and transitions

  • Adding movement to still images (keyframing)

  • Export and backup instruction
