CFE 100+ Evaluating Student Learning in Large Classes

Location: Wilson Library, Room 318 (CFE Conference Room)
Seats available: 14 Register/Cancel by: 9/27/2012 11:15 AM

Description:

As in most work, the job is incomplete until the paperwork is done. And in large classes there can be a LOT of paperwork. Thinking through the development of the course prior to the beginning of the semester sets the stage for formative assessment and summative evaluations of student and instructor performance. Developing, administering, and analyzing assessment and evaluation strategies are the focus for this session. Topics will include providing formative feedback to students without killing yourself or your teaching assistants, structuring activities and assignments that eliminate / restrict academic misconduct, and selecting assignments that can be quickly and reliably graded.

Facilitated by Donna Bailey, CFE Teaching and Learning Consultant
