Super Service Saturday 9/21/13


Volunteers can register up until Friday at Noon the day before the scheduled Super Service Saturday.

Loaves and Fishes - Volunteers will prepare hot meals for those in need and have the opportunity to interact with those served. Transportation is provided by PARTA. Please meet at the C-Midway (in front of the ROTC building on front campus) bus stop at 8:20 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore - Volunteers will help organize, clean, and transport donations while interacting with customers. Transportation is provided by PARTA. Please meet at the C-Midway (in front of the ROTC building on front campus) bus stop at 9:30 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

Akron Canton Food Bank - Volunteers will sort and inspect donated items, label bags for the repack project or label bottles for the soap project. The repack project simply means repackaging bulk items into smaller quantities; i.e. cereal, pasta. Please meet at the Student Center bus stop at 9:00 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

MedWish International - Volunteers will be serving clients indirectly by sorting donated medical supplies that will be shipped to third world countries. Please meet at the Student Center bus stop at 8:20 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

Goodwill Inudstries: Kent - Volunteers sort donations according to criteria for resale, clean display cases, assist in pricing merchandise, inspect donations for resale, and assist with other projects the GoodWill stores may need. Please meet at the C-Miday bus stop near the ROTC Building at 9:25 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

Haymaker Farmers Market - Volunteers will be assisting Kent's Farmer market with an impact study. Training is provided. This will be outdoors and will happen rain or shine so dress accordingly. Please meet at the Student Center bus stop at 7:50 am. You will meet your student leader and report to your service site from there.

Please note that we ask all our volunteers to wear comfortable clothes that they don't mind getting dirty, as well as long pants, and closed toed shoes. We also suggest bringing a water bottle and sunscreen if your service site is outdoors.
