Carl Bartoli
Mr. Bartoli has been in the HVACR industry for 30 years and is starting his 25th year with Donley Service Center. After spending 14 years in the field as an air conditioning tech and Field Supervisor, Carl was promoted to General Manager- Service Operations. Carl manages 20 technicians, 10 plumbers, 10 installers and 9 office support staff and provides marketing, technical and customer service training to all employees at Donley Service Center.
Joe Bujanda, Electrical Instructor
Mr. Bujanda has over thirty years experience in facilities engineering and construction field and has an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas-El Paso. Prior to leaving the Bull Information Systems in 2000, Mr. Bujanda specialized in printed circuit boards, clean rooms and computer data processing facilities.
Derrick Denis, CIAQP, CAC, CIEC
Mr. Denis has been providing professional environmental consulting and industrial hygiene services for over 15 years. Mr. Denis has been Vice President of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) for Clark Seif Clark, Inc. (CSC) for 9 years. Mr. Denis has performed and/or managed over 7,000 IEQ investigations. He has acquired various industryrelevant certifications in addition to a B.S. in Environmental Science. Mr. Denis is an active participant in the IEQ industry: he sat on the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) Board of Directors, acts as Director of IAQA Phoenix Chapter, and is a member of the American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQC) National Advisory Board.
Don Happ, Lighting Instructor
Mr. Happ is the owner of D.H. Lighting Solutions, a lighting design and consultation firm for commercial, industrial and public projects. He is Past President and an instructor for the Arizona section, Illuminating Engineering Society, a CEM, certified by the EPA and holds LC certification in lighting.
Joel Harris
Mr. Harris has worked over 20 years in the HVAC industry. Joel's extensive residential and commercial expertise in troubleshooting, special applications and design contribute to his successful training and management abilities utilized in daily operations.
  Steve Holmquist, Electrical Instructor
Mr. Holmquist holds an L-11 commercial electrical license and is a registered maintenance supervisor for the City of Phoenix. He has managed building activities for a wide variety of production and building systems for Phoenix Newspapers, Inc. for about 15 years. Mr. Holmquist has almost 20 years of experience in teaching electrical and electronic technology courses accredited with the community colleges.
Andrew John
Mr. John is currently General Manager and co-owner of John's Refrigeration, which was established in 1970. Andrew is NBI certified in air balancing and airflow diagnostics as well as BPI certified for Building Science.
Chris (Butch) Owens
Mr. Owens has worked in several capacities for the refrigeration industry for over 20 years and holds an EPA 40CFR Certification. He holds several Certifications with ABB including Authorized CSU ILT Trainer. He is Service Manager with Mech-Line Services LLC and has worked for Mech-Line for over 9 years. Mech-Line has built a solid sales, service and support reputation for ABB HVAC Drives for over 20+ years now. Mech-Line is also a UL508 Panel Shop. They build custom panel applications to suit many different custom VFD needs.
David Owens, C.E.M.
Mr. Owens has over 29 years of experience with HVAC system design, construction supervision, commissioning, operation and maintenance. For the past 18 years he has specialized in Direct Digital Control systems for HVAC and lighting control. Mr. Owens holds the rating of Certified Energy Manager and is an active member in the Association of Energy Engineers and American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers.
  Ray Palmer, Electrical Instructor
Mr. Palmer has twenty two years of experience as an electrician in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, he held the position of instructor supervisor and taught courses in Advanced Troubleshooting, Catholic Protection, Underground Distribution Systems, Motors and Motor Controls. He has a Bachelor degree in Occupational Education and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Instructional Technology and Military Science. He also holds an Associate degree in Mechanical and Electrical Technology. He has since retired from Luke AFB where he was the Military Electrical Supervisor of the Electrical Systems shop.
Rich F. Porter
Mr. Porter has been in the service industry for over half his life. He is a NCI CO/Combustion Analyst and is also N.A.T.E. certified in the installation and service of gas furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps. Rich is proud to serve on the Professional Advisory Committees for RSI, AAI, UEI, and EVIT. He enjoys working with other industry professionals to help shape curriculums and better prepare students for a career in the HVACR industry.
Bo Rogers
Mr. Rogers has been working in the HVAC industry since he was big enough to carry a toolbox. He puts to use all the things he has learned over the years while installing, servicing and selling furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps in the Midwest and Southwest. He enjoys learning about new technologies and methods in the industry, and especially enjoys sharing the knowledge he has gained with others.
  Roger Smalley
Mr. Smalley has been in the HVACR industry for over forty years. His experiences include residential, commercial and industrial including Nuclear Power Plants. Roger is retired from APS after a 25 year career in HVAC as a technician, leader and consultant. He has an Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning Technologies’ and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing.
Elmer Tepper, Electrical Instructor
Mr. Tepper entered the electrical field as an electrician and worked in this field for fifteen years. After receiving his BSEE degree, he worked in electrical engineering design and project management for a variety of industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.
Daniel Turley
Mr. Turley has over 27 years experience in the commercial and residential electrical industry and currently works as a maintenance electrician. He has over 12 years of supervisory experience, including over 8 years as a Licensed Arizona electrical contractor, and has overseen large electrical installations. He is a certified Level 1 Thermographer. One of his current projects is to perform Arc Flash Studies on various buildings in the valley and to apply NFPA 70E to promote electrical safety in the work place. His expertise is in Commercial, Residential and Industrial electrical work but he has general knowledge and understanding of plumbing, HVAC, and maintenance procedures. He has long been interested in vocational education, completing a Master of Education degree in Educational Media and Computers. He has written several computer-based training programs. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from ASU.
  William Twardy, Electrical Instructor
Mr. Twardy has over thirty years of experience in the electric industry with specific experience in: electric utility systems engineering, customer service, market research. Specific functions include management, design of electric power distribution systems for a variety of commercial and industrial facilities, and the design and instruction of courses related to electricity.
Ed Weiss, Power Quality Instructor
Mr. Weiss has a distinguished background in Power Quality Engineering for the past nineteen years and is a published author, seminar speaker, holds two P.Q. related patents and is currently President of Applied Power Quality Solutions.
Jim Westberg, Energy Management Instructor
Mr. Westberg is the Energy Program Administrator for the Arizona Department of Commerce Energy Office. One of the areas of his expertise is energy efficient lighting. An Energy Office Employee for the past 24 years, Jim has a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) degree from ASU, is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and is a member of the IES and ASHRAE.
David Williams
Mr. Williams has been in the HVACR industry in Arizona for over 30 years and his background includes both residential and commercial service. Mr. Williams has been instructing HVAC classes for over 25 years, including over 10 years with the Arizona Heat Pump Council.
Tim Williams
Mr. Williams began his training in the commercial controls industry while still in high school. He is now the owner and operator of Williams Mechanical Services, which was started in 2008. Tim manages a team working in both commercial and residential settings performing HVAC service, repair and replacement as well as new commercial installation on a variety of project types. Mr. Williams has worked in all facets of the HVAC industry including installation, service, project management and design building consulting.
