The North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners added coronal tooth polishing as a permitted function for trained Dental Assistant IIs in NC effective January 1994. Upon successful completion of this course, Dental Assistant IIs will be able to legally polish the coronal surfaces of the dentition under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.

Thursdays, September 17-October 15, 2015 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Didactic Series (Part A) & October 17-18, 2015, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Clinical Portion (Part B) Office trained dental assistants who wish to expose radiographs must have training in a radiography course approved by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners. This course will include instruction in fundamentals of digital imaging and image acquisition using CCD/CMOS sensors and PSP receptors. Basic principles of panoramic radiography will be introduced during the course.
