Four Day Adaptive Schools Foundational Training Includes 1) collaborative professional communities, 2) three focus areas for effective groups, 3) two ways of talking--dialogue and discussion (when and how to use each way), 4) strategies for facilitating collaborative groups, 5) collective identity and its impact on the system, 6) seven norms of collaboration, 7) agenda design to increase participation and collaboration, 8) conflict and tension (and how to use them as a resource), 9) principles and practices of collaborative meetings, and 10) the five energy sources within groups.
Presenter: Ericka Harris -- Lead Consultant, Certified Adaptive Schools Associate Trainer through Thinking Collaborative, and Certified National Staff Developer
Ericka Harris is an independent consultant , who works internationally living out her passion of transforming individuals, work groups, schools, ISD, and school districts. She has served as the Chief Education Officer for South Bend Community School Corporation, Interim Chief Academic Officer and Curriculum Director for Lansing Schools, Director for Teaching and Learning in Benton Harbor Area Schools. Ericka has experience as a building principal, as a teaching and learning consultant, and teacher for for Benton Harbor Area Schools serving grades PreK-12. She has also served Indiana University of South Bend as an Adjunct Professor and Student Teacher Support. Ericka served on the MDE:Effective Feedback for Educators Committee with Michigan's Learning Forward Teams. She holds multiple degrees and certifications from Andrews University, WMU. TESOL, NSDC Certification, as well as MI-LIFE endorsement for Administrators for the State of Michigan
