Open to all educators, Educators IN Industry is a chance to spend time learning about various local employers and career opportunities for students through both virtual and on-site learning experiences with area businesses. Each session will highlight current technologies and techniques relevant to teachers and specific skills employers deem critical for today's workforce, as well as the importance of connecting the world of work to curriculum. This year we'll be offering some sessions as 90 min. virtual sessions, while others will be full-day on-site events. Please look carefully at both the course title and description to be certain which version you are signing up for.

PLEASE NOTE:

• For both the Virtual and On Demand sessions, sign-ups through the PD Hub alone will NOT constitute record of attending; in order to receive SCECHs, attendees MUST complete the online form shared out during the event
• For On Demand attendees, SCECHs will be submitted to the state on a monthly basis; therefore, please allow 1-2 months for SCECHs to appear in MOECS before reaching out to the PD Hub
• On Demand sessions will be available only until May 31st

For school counselors: Unless otherwise noted, all Educators IN Industry events will be submitted to the state as credit for Career SCECHs.

Eric Kelliher

Eric Kelliher, Career Readiness Consultant at Kent ISD, works with local educators to integrate career exploration, planning and thinking into instruction. From helping teachers integrate soft skills into lesson plans, to speaking to classrooms and at conferences, to running programs like Teachers in Industry, Classroom to Careers and others, Eric seeks to make career thinking an integral part of the learning experience. His prior experience includes 6 years in the classroom teaching Language Arts and Physical Education, 4 years as a K-12 Technology trainer, 3 years in Higher Education, and several years in the corporate world, first in Banking, later as a Leadership Development trainer at Meijer’s corporate headquarters.
