Educators are often presented with tools for self-care, but what happens when these tools feel insufficient? What do educators do when their self-care is not enough given the stress the system places on them? This series focuses on the we care tools we need to embed into the cultures of our schools to ensure that the places we work are healthy, collaborative, and growth-oriented. Together we will look at the practices and tools we can embrace that will make our schools better places for all of us to work and thrive.

  • Session 1: Reimagining the Metaphors; Embrace new metaphors that will change the way we view the potential of our work in schools.
  • Session 2: Reworking our Self-talk; Review common self-talk patterns are and how self-compassion can equip us to craft new, healthier scripts for ourselves and influence our schools' culture.
  • Session 3: Navigating the Strengths and Pitfalls of Empathy; Learn news ways that empathy will equip us and our colleagues to be invested in our students in more powerful and less exhausting ways.
  • Session 4: Ugh…We Have to Talk About Shame?; Look at the ways shame shows up in our staff cultures, how shame disconnects us from our colleagues, and what we can do about it.
