Webinar Description

REGISTRATION PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO KENT ISD AREA EDUCATOR TEAMS, OTHERS MAY BE ACCEPTED IF THERE IS ROOM

Join us for an after school online introductory course to develop responsive intake, assessment, and instruction for secondary newcomers and SIFE students facilitated by Bridges to Academic Success and the Bridges-SIFE Project team. This course includes 5 synchronous online sessions, 1 facilitated PLC with action planning, and remote coaching. The course includes resources for intake, assessment, and instruction that can be shared with your school / district. District teams will be given priority for this course (EL Teacher & Content Area Teacher, EL Teacher & Instructional Coach, etc.). A stipend ($550) will be paid to each participant for completion of the course. PARTICIPATION IS EXPECTED AT ALL SYNCHRONOUS SESSIONS, INSTRUCTORS RESERVE RIGHT TO UNENROLL PARTICIPANTS FROM COURSE

Topics include: Understanding SIFE & Newcomer Learners, Progress Monitoring in Writing, Differentiating Reading Using an Instructional Protocol, Integrating SEL into Your Classroom: An Overview, Creating a Safe & Welcoming Environment for SIFE & Newcomer Learners, PLC: Planning Forward.

Synchronous Sessions (begin at 3pm): 3/10 (2.5hr), 3/17(2.5hr), 3/24(2.5hr), 4/14(2.5hr), 4/21(2hr), 4/26(90 min) with Remote Coaching (1hr15min, attend 1 session) 5/24 (Group 1), 5/25 (Group 2), 5/26 (Group 3)
