Course Description

AssisTechKnow 2016
Two days of Assistive Technology (attend one or both at only $20/day)

Join us for the 5th annual AssisTechKnow Conference – yes, it is even BETTER than last year! Register for the first day, the second-day or BOTH! Each day will include a variety of break-out sessions on a range of topics (topics will differ each day). More half-day sessions will offer, with “Featured Speakers” from across the state providing more hands-on learning than ever before.Mike Marotta, national Assistive Technology and UDL consultant with over 25 years of experience in the field of AT and Universal Design for Learning, will join us providing two days of in-depth learning! And, as always, 60-minute break-outs will also be available covering many new topics.

Tools and strategies will address the needs of students in general education, team-taught classrooms as well as categorical early childhood, elementary and secondary classrooms. This Assistive Technology and UDL Extravaganza will provide opportunities for special education and general education teachers, OT's, PT's, SLP's, Psychologists, Administrators and parents.

Mike Marotta

Mike has 25 years of experience as an Assistive Technology Consultant and Trainer, enabling individuals with all disabilities to effectively implement AT to meet their needs.He supports professional learning on a range of topics including Chrome as AT, UDL, mobile tablet devices – looking at both alternative access and implementation, and Web 2.0 just to name a few.He teaches in the Masters of AT program at California State University, Northridge, Felician College and AbleNet’s new AT 101 interactive training program.
