This institute will provide you with critical foundation strategies for supporting our youngest English Learners.  We have 4 wonderful presenters who will be here to share information with you!  When registering, please select the sessions you plan to attend:

Morning
Math - The Heartbeat of Problem Solving - Addition Fact Fluency (Virginia Luce & Virginia Smith)
Participants will become acquainted with a math fluency program consisting of interactive PPTs,
songs, games, and student worksheets.  The program also incorporates several 'best practices':  creating models, interactive participation, building patterns, using anchors of five and ten, and includes a variety of modalities.  (This is a make-it, take-it session!)

Language Arts - We CAN Help! - Making a Difference for Struggling Readers! (Donna Whyte)
This is aimed at teachers who work with students who struggle in decoding and comprehension skills.  The interventions shared will be aimed at systematic, research-based instruction and strategies that aid our most deficient readers.  Donna will share how to assess foundation skills and move general curriculum to small groups with targeted activities to ensure the success of all students.

Afternoon
Math - The Heartbeat of Problem Solving - Subtraction Fact Fluency (Virginia Luce & Virginia Smith)
