Based on her book, A Mindset for Learning (co-authored with Christine Hertz), Kristi will share with you the myriad of ways small changes throughout our days can reap huge rewards in the way children think and talk about themselves and challenges. Participants will walk away armed with actionable, easy-to-implement strategies to begin effecting immediate and impactful change. This work will be woven into existing classroom structures like read aloud, small group work, and reflective shares to demonstrate it is not teaching more, but changing how we teach that carries the biggest impact. Charts, tools, and other resources will be shared to help the classroom experience come alive, and to create a vision of what is possible in any school. This day is an opportunity to explore and deepen our understanding of one of the most powerful tools we can help children develop: a joyful, independent, growth-oriented mindset.
