Come learn the top ten classroom strategies that will help your English Learners better comprehend your instruction, engage in classroom discussions and prepare them for classroom and state assessments. This is ideal for ALL classroom teachers, grades K-12. Ideas for differentiating strategies for elementary vs MS/HS will be shared.

Instructional strategies that can be implemented immediately in the classroom
Digital resources that support English Learners
Strategies for scaffolding instruction for EL's
An understanding of the WIDA EL Standards and resources; and how to use these in the classroom for planning, instruction and assessment
Leave with a plan for implementing the strategies learned – teachers will apply strategies learned to a lesson that will be used in the classroom in near future

Tami is a trained RISE facilitator, former principal, and the current Director of Professional Learning at WVEC. She has also been involved in extensive EL training including IDOE trainings, work with multiple universities, as well as training from WIDA and CAL. Tami currently facilitates the WVEC Title III Consortium with 50 schools participating.

WVEC CANCELLATION POLICY:
* Registrants who notify WVEC of their cancellation on or before the registration deadline date will not be required to pay the registration fee.
* Registrants who cancel after the registration deadline but before the workshop date or call to cancel on the day of the workshop will pay 50% of the registration fee.
* Registrants who neglect to call or notify the WVEC of their cancellation will be responsible for paying the full fee.
* On official school corporation weather-related cancellation days, registrants will not be required to pay registration fees.
*Cost of all workshops are based on membership in an Indiana ESC. Any registrants who are not members of an ESC in the state of Indiana will be required to pay the non-member fee of twice the amount of the workshop cost.
