In this workshop you will learn how to design high-impact math instructions students demonstrate more than a year's worth of math learning for a year in school. Visible Learning for Mathematics outlines what works best for optimizing student learning. Learning Intentions: Examine and reflect on classroom videos that demonstrate instructional best practices. Explore the three levels of learning: surface, deep and transfer learning. Learn when to use the right approach (number talks, collaborative work, rich tasks and problem solving learning) at the right time. Examine how to make mathematics learning 'visible'. (K-12)
