Come as an individual or come as a team of 5 to learn the strategies of finding the best publisher for your district. You will learn what to look for, how to use a rubric to match your district’s reading needs, and develop the right questions to pinpoint the publisher that will best meet the needs of your schools. Intended Audience: School and District Leaders as well as teachers involved with the adoption process.

Dr. Heather Baker has over 20 years experience in k-12 education and is currently serving college students as the Vice Chancellor for Student Success at Ivy Tech Community College in Columbus. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Indiana University. Through her work at the Indiana Department of Education as an Elementary Math Specialist and ultimately the Director of Outreach, she was able to support schools across Indiana to assist with the implementation of the Indiana Academic Standards, the development of curriculum maps, preparation for State assessments, and improvement of school and system leadership and strategic planning. She received certification in brain-based teaching through Eric Jensen and ensures all professional development is “brain-based friendly.” She is a proud wife, mother of three daughters, “Gram” of two unruly, but cute grandsons and two adorable shih-tzus.

Individual - $70.00/member or $140/non-member*
Group - $300 for a team of 5/member or $600/non-member
*Cost of all workshops are based on membership in an Indiana ESC. Any registrants who are not members of an ESC in the state of Indiana will be required to pay the non-member fee of twice the amount of the workshop cost.

WVEC CANCELLATION POLICY:
* Registrants who notify WVEC of their cancellation on or before the registration deadline date will not be required to pay the registration fee.
* Registrants who cancel after the registration deadline but before the workshop date or call to cancel on the day of the workshop will pay 50% of the registration fee.
* Registrants who neglect to call or notify the WVEC of their cancellation will be responsible for paying the full fee.
* On official school corporation weather-related cancellation days, registrants will not be required to pay registration fees.
