Keeping Students Engaged All Day Long (K-6)

This workshop will focus on the pedagogical approach of adding STEM/STEAM and other worthwhile student lead experiences. Too often we throw additional meaningless/repetitive work at students to keep them busy. There are numerous options to allow students experiential project work that will engage, challenge, enrich and develop problem solvers. I will share both teacher directed and student lead project concepts to help teachers keep students from “bored” times and offer informal learning. This will include, but not be limited to, programming/coding, CAD work, interactive questions, purposeful projects and challenges, ipad/chromebook/pc possibilities and a number of links and sites to encourage learning without worksheets. In a world ruled by assessment our students need less. Less work and more fun. Fun isn’t always a waste of time, fun can be learning and problem solving. Presented by Andy Wallace.
