~Improving iLearn Test Scores in Literacy Using the Visible Learning Research

How can we be more selective and intentional with our instructional practices in order to have greater impact on student achievement? In this workshop, you will learn how to design high-impact literacy instruction, so students demonstrate more than a year's worth of learning in your classroom. Visible Learning for Literacy outlines how to use the right approach at the right time so you can be clearer, more selective and intentional in your teaching and learning. You will see the importance of teacher clarity with learning intentions with success criteria as well as which routines are most effective during the three phases of learning. (Grades 3-12)

 Learning Intentions:

  • Learn how to use the right approach at the right time.
  • Learn which routines are the most effective during the surface, deep, and transfer of learning phases.
  • The importance of the 10 Mind Frames for teachers and its application to curriculum planning.
  • Examine how to make literacy learning 'visible' in your classroom.
