Our Art Studio classes offer an introductory exploration of art making in all its forms. Students will learn about the basic tools and techniques all artists use and will be introduced to a variety of artists as they are encouraged to express their own individual viewpoint. Some of the materials that will be used include collage, colored pencil, oil pastels, watercolor and acrylic paint, air-dry clay, wire and papier mâché. Students may take the same level class more than once; lessons will not repeat. No supplies are needed. Students are encouraged to dress for art-making!

About Us

Danforth Art is a Museum and School that invites you to see, learn about, create, and be inspired by art. From the very beginning, Danforth Art has offered a robust series of studio art classes, workshops, and other offerings. During its first term, starting March 1, 1975, Danforth art offered beginning and advanced courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, and other disciplines. And, although our programming has changed over the years, the goal was, and remains, to provide consistently high-quality art-making experiences, taught by professional artists and art educators, and to use authentic works of art to inspire creativity and inquiry in our studios. There are no museum galleries or exhibitions currently in this building.
