Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). Employees of Perinatal Outreach hospitals, AWHONN Members, and Alumni receive 75% off of the program's value.


All nurses, social workers, medical assistants, and healthcare professionals working with fathers.


The purpose of this program is to increase knowledge on the importance of fatherhood engagement and equip participants with tools for engaging fathers in their area of practice. Topics include current research on fatherhood engagement, benefits and barriers to engaging fathers, outcomes of fatherhood engagement, and more!


Program Objectives:

  • Identify variations between traditional and nontraditional fatherhood roles
  • Discuss the benefits of fatherhood engagement
  • Identify barriers that hinder fatherhood engagement
  • Discuss interventions to promote fatherhood engagement in one's practice


In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program

This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 3.0 clock hours for Nebraska Social Workers.



3.0 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline.
