The purpose of this course is to provide a forum that increases knowledge related to nursing care of postpartum mothers. Topics include postpartum assessment, diabetes, postpartum hemorrhage, and more!


Program Objectives:

  • Identify normal and abnormal postpartum assessment findings.
  • Recognize critical postpartum warning signs.
  • Discuss management of diabetes in the postpartum woman.
  • Describe interventions for the prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage.
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of postpartum infection.
  • Identity signs and symptoms of hypertensive disorders in the postpartum woman.
  • Differentiate perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in the postpartum patient.
