Cost: $51.00 for general registrants.

 

Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC Alumni who provide graduation year and last name at graduation may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost but do not receive CE.

Audience

Nurses, social workers, licensed mental health providers, medical assistants, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals caring for the behavioral health patient.


Details

The purpose of this series is to increase awareness while providing education, support, and resources in caring for the behavioral health patient

 

Program Objectives:

  • Identify how to start a conversation with the behavioral health patient
  • Discuss foundations of trauma-informed care.
  • Discuss environmental awareness & personal safety
  • Identify commonly used controlled substances
  • Raise awareness of the growing epidemic of loneliness among seniors

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

Continuing Education

Nurses: 4.25 contact hours awarded. MW MSD Provider Approval #NE1022-1. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

 

Social Work: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 4.25 clock hours for Nebraska Social Workers.

 

Medical Assistant: This program has been granted prior approval by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Course Number 137285 Category 4.25 CG continuing education units. Granting approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the AAMA of the program content or the program provider.

 

Respiratory: This program meets the continuing education criteria for 4.0 clock hours for Nebraska Respiratory Care Practitioners.

 

Mental Health Practitioners: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 4.25 clock hours for Nebraska licensed mental health practitioners.

 

Physical Therapy And Physical Therapy Assistants: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 4.25 clock hours for Nebraska physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.

 

Occupational Therapy and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 4.25 clock hours for Nebraska occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants.

 

EMS/Paramedics: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 4.25 clock hours for NE and IA Paramedics and EMTs.

 

Education Credit: 4.25 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline
