Details

The opioid epidemic has affected men and women of all demographics but have you thought about the impact on the pregnant mom and her baby? The purpose of this course is to learn the impact opioids have on both the mother and her baby during pregnancy and postpartum and current care recommendations.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Describe the opioid epidemic and the impact on the mother's perinatal and postpartum care.
  • Identify Strategies to support mothers with opioid addiction in labor and postpartum.
  • Outline current recommendations for care of the infant born to the mother using opioids.
  • Specify strategies to support infants experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program.

6:00-7:00pm Neonatal impact in utero and after birth (1.0 contact hours)
