Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). NMC Alumni receive 75% off of the program's value. Joint provider agencies can attend for a discounted rate of $35.


All nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical assistants, and individuals working with the older adult.


This program will provide current information and evidence-based practice guidelines that will enhance clinical and professional practice related to the care of the older adult.


Program Objectives:

  • Describe the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms Model of Geriatric Care
  • Understand “what matters” to the older adult
  • Discuss medications and the potential for harm to the older adult
  • Identify symptoms of and interventions for dementia, delirium, and depression
  • Explore mobility opportunities for the older adult


In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 7 days of the program

Mental Health Practitioners: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 5.75 clock hours for Nebraska licensed mental health practitioners and Iowa Behavioral Sciences practitioners.


Medical Assistant: This program has been granted prior approval by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Course Number 136315 Category 5.5 CG continuing education units. Granting approval in no way constitutes an endorsement by the AAMA of the program content or the program provider.


Education Credit: 5.75 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline
