Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). NMC Alumni receive 75% off of the program's value.


Audience

Nurses, social workers, licensed mental health providers, and other healthcare professionals caring for the behavioral health patient.


Details

The purpose of this series is to increase awareness while providing education, support, and resources in caring for the behavioral health patient.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Discuss substance abuse, treatments, and interventions for the behavioral health patient
  • Describe strategies to cultivate compassion and implement into your personal and professional life

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program

Continuing Education

Nurses: 2.0 contact hours awarded. MW MSD Provider Approval #NE1019-9. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Nebraska Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

 

Social Work: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 2.0 clock hours for Nebraska workers.

 

Mental Health Practitioners: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 2.0 clock hours for Nebraska licensed mental health practitioners Behavioral Sciences practitioners.

 

Education Credit: 2.0 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline.
