Target Audience

Nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals caring for pregnant and postpartum women.


Details

The purpose of this course is to increase knowledge of the healthcare professional and ways to manage anxiety in the pregnant and postpartum mom including available resources, meds, and therapy.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Explain the bedside nurses' role in helping mothers that are experiencing anxiety during the in-patient time frame.
  • Discover resources available for mothers (and families) impacted by anxiety in the postpartum time frame.
  • Evaluate the process when a mother presents to the clinic with symptoms of anxiety.
  • Identify treatment plans including potential medications.
  • Specify best practices in communication skills when speaking with a mother with increased anxiety.

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program.
