Details

This program will provide information on current evidence-based guidelines and outcomes for the care of patients with gynecologic malignancies and non-malignancies.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Identify the rationale on when to incorporate palliative care into a patient's treatment plan
  • Discuss why palliative care collaboration is useful to the GYN oncology population
  • Identify risk factors that are associated with an increased incidence of GYN oncology diagnoses
  • Discuss the appropriate genetic testing useful with GYN oncology diagnoses
  • Describe ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment
  • Discuss recent NCCN staging guidelines for ovarian cancer
  • Discuss how different age groups process a cancer diagnosis
  • Identify both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to assist on referring patients to Harpers Hope supportive services
  • Review current updates in triaging pap tests
  • Discuss staging and current treatment guidelines for cervical cancer
  • Identify fertility-sparing options

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
