Target Audience

Nurses and other clinicians working with laboring women.


The purpose of this program is to provide a forum that increases knowledge related to nursing care and support of the laboring patient.


Program Objectives:

  • Explore influences on birth practices
  • Identify primary hormones in pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding
  • Identify and utilize techniques for the non-pharmacologic support of a laboring woman
  • Discuss the various roles of support persons in childbirth



In order to receive continuing education credit for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form
