Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). NMC Alumni, Perinatal Outreach, and AWHONN receive 75% off of the program's value.

Nurses who work in labor and delivery.


Details

To provide a forum that increases knowledge related to nursing care of the obstetrical patient. This course will cover topics including labor progress, assessments of the laboring woman, common complications in labor and delivery and much more.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Review the nursing assessment of a labor patient and stages and phases of labor
  • Discuss immediate stabilization of the newborn
  • Demonstrate common obstetric assessment skills & assessments using models & simulation.
  • Discuss nursing care of complications in pregnancy and labor and delivery

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program

Nurses: 12.0 contact hours awarded. MW MSD Provider Approval #NE 1022-1.
