Value: $230.00

Cost: $69.00 for general registrants.

Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). NMC Alumni, Perinatal Outreach, and AWHONN receive 75% off of the program's value.

Nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for the term and pre-term infants.


Details

The purpose of this course is to provide a forum that increases knowledge related to nursing care of the newborn.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Describe interventions for neonatal stabilization.
  • Identify normal and abnormal assessment findings in the newborn populations.
  • Discuss the impact of skin to skin and delayed bathing on newborn stabilization.
  • Describe modes of neonatal heat loss and prevention methods.
  • Identify differences between the late preterm and term newborn.
  • Recognize the causes of hyperbilirubinemia in the neonate.
  • Describe prevention and treatment methods for newborn hypoglycemia.
