Target Audience

Nurses who care for women receiving electronic fetal heart rate monitoring.


Details

This program is for the novice health professional working with obstetric patients. The program provides the principles and concepts in the physiology of fetal monitoring through documentation.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Describe the transfer of oxygen from the environment to the fetus
  • Identify the fetal response to interrupted oxygen transfer
  • Discuss instrumentation for fetal heart rate and uterine activity monitoring.
  • Identify fetal heart rate patterns using the NICHD criteria.
  • Identify nursing interventions of fetal heart rate patterns and uterine tachysystole.

 

In order to receive continuing education credit for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form
