Employees of Perinatal Outreach hospitals and Alumni receive 75% off of the program's value.

Target Audience

Healthcare providers in the clinic setting, labor and delivery, and mother and baby that care for diabetic mothers and their babies.


The purpose of this course is to learn how diabetes can impact a mother’s pregnancy and how to care for the baby born to a mom with type I, type II or gestational diabetes.


Program Objectives:

  • Discover the plan of care for a baby born to a mom with Type I, Type II or gestational diabetes.
  • Identify the needs the nurse can anticipate of a baby born to a mother with Type 1, Type 2, or Gestational Diabetes.
  • Explain how Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes impacts mother's pregnancy.
  • Support the needs of a postpartum mom with diabetes.


In order to receive continuing education credit for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form
