Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost (they do not receive CE). Employees of Perinatal Outreach hospitals, AWHONN, and Alumni receive 75% off of the program's value.


Audience

Nurses, mental health practitioners, social workers, medical assistants, and healthcare professionals working with postpartum women.


Details

The purpose of this course is to increase knowledge on birth trauma and its impact on the development or exacerbation of maternal post-traumatic stress disorder.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Discuss the impact of birth trauma on the development of PTSD in new mothers
  • Discover clinical presentation and diagnosis of PTSD in new mothers
  • Identify prevention and treatment options for PTSD

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form within 30 days of the program
