Sustainable Living: Home Energy Efficiency

This short session will cover the fundamentals of home energy use including ways to shrink your carbon footprint at home, save money, and new grants available to help you do this.


Home energy use and utility bills are often poorly understood. This quick presentation by the Facilities Energy Specialist will look at the basics of home energy use and what you can do about your utility bills and your home carbon footprint, including:


- Overview of residential utility billing in Ontario

- Home energy myths and facts, what uses the most energy in a typical home

- Options to reduce energy use, both low-cost options and more major upgrades

- new federal Canada Greener Homes Grant program
