Topic: Workshop I: Foundations in Teaching and Learning

Your teaching philosophy statement is a core part of your teaching dossier, providing insight into who you are as an educator and how you approach teaching. This workshop will help you develop your teaching philosophy statement and will introduce you to a variety of professional development workshops and opportunities on campus. By taking you through the structure and important components of a teaching philosophy, this workshop will provide you with a space to reflect on your own teaching practice, helping you articulate the unique beliefs, attitudes, and philosophies you bring into the classroom.

Series Description:
Thinking about applying for faculty jobs in the near future? Need to build a teaching dossier? The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is offering a series of workshops that will help you complete the Certificate in Professional Development in University Teaching and Learning (PUTL), which is geared toward developing the elements required for a teaching dossier. Each workshop will lead you through one of the five required modules of the PUTL.
