A primer for becoming more adept at records management.


This is an entry level workshop on numerous aspects of records management at Queen's.

Topics include, records management fundamentals, email management, scanning records, effective digital record storage, and transfer and destruction of records. We seek to answer all of your questions about managing records, even those questions you didn't yet know you had, such as: What is a record? When can I delete emails? If I scan records, can I shred the originals? Can my office put all of our files in the cloud?


This workshop will be offered online.

Note: Registration will provide the organizers with access to your email address. All registered participants will be emailed an Outlook invitation to the workshop which will contain a link allowing participants to join online. Please click on that link on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 9:00 AM to gain access to the live workshop.



To check your registration, visit HR's Learning & Development web page ( and click on 'Learning Catalogue' in the top options, then on the red 'Review Transcript' button to the right of the gold 'List all workshops' button. You will be asked to sign in with your Queen's ID and then your personal transcript will come up. You should see the webinar in the list of current registrations. If you do not, return to the webinar page and click on 'Register Now', follow instructions and be sure to click on 'Submit'.
