ABOUT: Coppell Life Safety Park and Biodiversity Education Center are proud to offer joint field trip opportunities for larger groups (up to 120 students)! While one group of up to 60 students visits Life Safety Park for the two hour session, another group of 60 students will participate in Biodiversity Education Center programming at the same time. After a break for lunch, groups will then switch facilities for the afternoon session. Please note that these are two separate facilities: transportation will be required between sites!

Your visit to LSP will include an educational safety lesson, with topic determined by grade level, as well as hands-on time relevant to the safety topic. Your visit to the BEC will include a naturalist education program, hike, and/or game of your choice. Details on available topics are below.

REGISTRATION INFO: This registration slot is open to any Coppell ISD K-5 teacher, educator, or school administrator. Private/Charter schools, daycares, and homeschools in Coppell and the surrounding area are also welcomed to register for a small fee.

If you are interested in this experience, please read all information below and then continue by clicking the 'Register' button near the bottom of the page to complete the request form. You will not need to contact the BEC to make separate arrangements; however, non-CISD groups will need to coordinate payment with BEC staff after submitting the request. Details below.

COST:

Coppell-ISD groups: FREE!

Non-CISD groups: $90 for up to 60 students | $180 for up to 120 students**

**Once registered, you will be sent a separate link to confirm payment. Please note that payment must be received within 2 weeks of the program request receipt or at least 4 weeks prior to the program date, whichever is sooner. SCHEDULE: Joint study trips are offered for full-day sessions (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM). Please see the schedule example below:

LUNCH: You are responsible for providing lunch to your group. Life Safety Park and the Biodiversity Education Center will not be responsible for providing or facilitating meals. You are welcomed to bring a sack or picnic lunch to eat onsite at one of the BEC's offerings; otherwise, there are other sit-down restaurants and park/picnic areas nearby.

MAXIMUM STUDENT CAPACITY PER TRIP: 120 (no exceptions)

Note: This means up to 60 students at the Life Safety Park, and 60 students at the Biodiversity Education Center.

Kindergarten - 1 : 2

1st Grade - 1 : 4

2nd Grade - 1 : 6

3rd Grade - 1 : 4

4th Grade - 1 : 10

5th Grade - 1 : 10

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW:

• ISD parents/chaperones must check in at school first, and visibly wear the issued sticker badge
• Non-ISD parents/chaperones must bring a valid government-issued photo ID
• Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class time
• Students & chaperones must wear closed-toed shoes
• Candid photos may be taken
• Child siblings not allowed
