Students will analyze DC and AC electrical circuits: series, parallel and acombination of both. They will identify how electrical power is produced,
transmitted and distributed. Students will be able to specify and size major electrical system equipment according to NEC, NESC and other applicable
codes, including: generators, transformers, switchgears, panel boards, motors, HVAC systems, MCC’s, ATS’s, feeders, branch-circuits and
over-current protection devices. Students will be able to develop one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, lighting circuits, power circuits and control circuits.
Students will demonstrate workplace safety and how to use electrical measurement equipment like multi-meters and meg-ohm-meters in diagnosing and trouble-shooting
electrical equipment and electrical circuits.
