Residential Energy Auditor

This five-day course provides basic training on how to assess the potential for improving home comfort and energy efficiency. A competency examination will be included with the cost of this course. Successfully passing this examination demonstrates that the student meets the State of Minnesota's minimum qualifications for the residential energy auditors.
A combination of lecture and lab will cover: The Principles of Energy, Energy and the Building Shell, Heating, Cooling, Insulation, Air Leakage, Windows and Doors, Lighting and Appliances, Water Heating, Health & Safety
Course Cost: $1,200
Cost includes two books: 'Residential Energy-Cost Savings & Comfort for Existing Buildings' and 'Evaluating Home Performance', handouts, 6 weeks access to the ELN (Enhanced Learning Network) and one examination on the last day of the class. Student do have the option of one retest for $50.00. Additional test dates are posted on the Dunwoody website. Student will earn a Dunwoody course completion certificate if they obtain 100% attendance in the 5 day course.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to the class start date and time for a full refund. No refunds will be given on late cancellations or the day of the class.
