In this four-part virtual webinar series, participants will hear from expert researchers on topics including read alouds, scaffolded writing, scaffolded reading, and vocabulary instruction with a foundation in the Essential Instructional Practices in Literacy for Grades K-3. This series is for teachers who have been previously trained in 'How to Plan Differentiated Reading Instruction: Resources for Grades K-3' by Sharon Walpole and Michael C. McKenna. PLEASE NOTE: this series is intended for Clinton County educators only.
Each week participants will view a webinar recording from either Dr. Sharon Walpole (week 1), Dr. Laura Tortorelli (weeks 2 and 3), or Dr. Tanya Wright (week 4) discussing ways to leverage the learning from the Differentiated Reading Instruction text into larger areas of literacy instruction with a foundation in the Essential Instructional Practices in Literacy for Grades K-3. Each webinar focuses on one of the four topics: Read Alouds, Scaffolded Writing, Scaffolded Reading, and Vocabulary Instruction. We will watch the webinar and then have a short discussion and debrief after.
There is no charge for this event and SCECHs will be offered.
