If your department isn't listed, go back to the EVENT LISTING PAGE and get your dues paid for 2021 by registering for the 2021 Calendar Year Dept. Membership Dues - SD Fire Chiefs' Assn. event before registering for the 2020 Fire Chief's Conference. Due to the delayed date of the Conference we are accepting 2020 or 2021 membership payment to enable to conference discount. It may take a day or two depending on timing to update your Department record and update the system so that you will be able to register for the Fire Chief's Conference and obtain the $50 discount on each individual registration.

 


Financials

Registration cost is $175 per registrant. That cost will be discounted $50 for Departments that are members of the SD Fire Chiefs Association, also an 'Early Registration' discount of $25 per registrant will be applied for any registrations submitted prior to November 10th.

$125 - Normal registration cost

 

Department is a NON-Member of Association:

$150 - Early registration cost

Presenter Bios-?

Monica Colby, a Fire and Life Safety Educator since 1998, currently works with Rapid City Fire Department in South Dakota. As a data- and safety-geek, she works with local, state, regional, and national projects. Monica, the Wikipedia of Pub Ed, currently serves on the NFPA 1030 Technical Committee, a UL Standards Technical Panel, The Vision 2020 Project, and represents her state with the NFPA Education Network. She and her teenage engineer live in a home protected by working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, cooktop heat-limiting technology, and fire sprinklers.

Doug Kirkus- Doug has worked with the members of the SDML Workers' Compensation Fund for the past 27 years. Prior to that, he spent over 20 years as a first responder here in South Dakota. He spent 21 years in law enforcement as a patrol officer, a deputy sheriff, Chief Deputy Sheriff and Chief of Police in Mitchell and Davison County. He was an EMT and an EMT instructor for 25 years, a volunteer firefighter for 10 years and a Deputy County Coroner for Davison and Hanson County for several years. Marketing Representative for the SDML Workers' Compensation Fund, will share information on the First Responder Assistance Program offered as a free benefit to the members of this risk-sharing pool. The presentation will offer a comprehensive overview of this problem-solving program provided by Connections, Inc. for over 12,000 first responders and their loved ones covered by the SDML WC Fund.

Trevor Lightfield grew up on a farm east of Onida, SD and served on the Onida Fire Department and Ambulance Service for 6 years. He then moved to the big city of Pierre and is currently on the Pierre Rescue Squad and Dive Squad. Trevor has held many positions throughout the years from Training Officer to Lieutenant and to Captain and is also a certified instructor. Trevor is an insurance agent for Fischer Rounds & Associates in which he insures many fire departments and ambulance services across South Dakota and North Dakota

Chip Premus- Sunday 8-10 RCFD Talking Safety on Marijuana Facilities, How you as Chief can get involved with City Ordinances- Chip Premus is Chief Deputy Fire Marshal with Rapid City Fire Department. Chip has worked in the Fire Service for 20 years which include 11 years as Fire Fighter Paramedic and 9 years working in Fire Prevention. Chips Fire Career started in Webster SD as a volunteer for ambulance and fire department, his fulltime career started in Watertown SD and is currently working for Rapid City Fire Department.
