This presentation will provide an overview of the DSM-5. The presentation will discuss the history of the DSM and the changes from the DSM-IV to the DSM-5. A comprehensive overview of each section will be discussed and the criterion associated with disorders. The presentation will also highlight assessment and provide case conceptualizations.

1) Develop an understanding of the history and of the DSM and the development of the DSM-5.
2) Obtain an understanding of sections of the DSM and criterion associated with the disorders.
3) Develop skills in assessment and appropriate use of the DSM in the diagnostic process.
