This 50-hour course satisfies the mandate of the House of Representative Bill 671, which requires the maintenance of Georgia teaching certificates through course work on identifying and teaching children with special needs. The purpose of this course is to improve the quality of instruction for all students by increasing the capacity of teachers to identify the characteristics of learners with special learning needs and to assist them in meeting those special needs through adapted instruction strategies.
