Paws for Freedom’s mission is to help children with disabilities help people with disabilities. They are a nonprofit that places service dogs, facility therapy dogs and companion dogs. Thanks to a partnership program with Horizon Academy, eight student trainers work with their assigned service dogs in training five days a week after school. The dogs are taught to pick things up, open and close doors, turn lights on and off and much more!
Family-friendly event - Children are welcome to attend.
No pets please.
Lea Ann Shearer is the founder and Executive Director of Paws for Freedom and its S.T.A.R.T. Club program at Horizon Academy. A “dog in training” will be along for the presentation. Please do not pet the dog until after the presentation when we will allow time for visiting.
