Candlelight Christmas Eve 2019 Volunteer Sign up

Sunday, December 22, Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24

Thank you for your interest in helping provide radical hospitality during our Candlelight Christmas Eve services.

Volunteer positions include:

Narthex/Commons Volunteer: Visit with guests as they wait in line to enter service. Help hand out candles, bulletins and give out stickers to kids. Once service begins help clean candles and re-set candle tables for the next worship service. (1 hour prior to worship until 30 minutes after service begins)

Sidewalk Greeter: Serve outside on the sidewalk, sharing a warm welcome and guiding guests as they arrive from the parking lots. This is a great role to wear your fun Christmas hat or light-up Christmas necklace! (45 minutes prior to worship until approximately 15 minutes after it begins)

Overflow Usher: Serve as an Usher wherever needed, could be in the balcony, main floor of Sanctuary or in Narthex overflow seating depending on the needs of that particular service. Help seat guests, pass attendance notebooks and offering plates, and guide guests from overflow seating into Sanctuary for candle lighting. After service, help clean area and pick up used candles, leftover bulletins, etc. (45 minutes prior to worship until approximately 15 minutes after service ends)

Outside Door Greeter: Open outside doors and welcome guests as they enter the worship space. Wear your fun Christmas hats and mittens and share a warm smile as you will be standing outside for this serving role. (45 minutes prior to worship until 15 minutes after the service begins)

Candle Distributor/Prep: Stand inside doors and hand out candles as people enter the building. Once service begins, help clean candles and re-set candle tables for the next worship service. Candle cleaning will take place in the Parlor to help for smooth processing of candles in a single location. (45 minutes prior to worship until end of service)

Usher: Ushers are a vital part of the worship team responsible for greeting guests, passing attendance notebooks, collecting offering, passing the light of Christ, and cleaning up section following worship. (1 hour prior to worship until 30 minutes after the service is over)

Connection Point: Help point our guests in the right direction and answer basic questions with a welcoming smile. (45 minutes before worship until 15 minutes after the service is over)

Mug Mappers: Great for those who want to serve behind the scenes and still make a big impact! Create, print and stuff maps for our first-time guest mugs. (45 minutes after worship only)

Worship and Acolyte Coordinator: Help train the Acolytes for service and make sure the Sanctuary is set for worship. You'll be paired with a seasoned Worship and Acolyte Coordinator who will show you the ropes. (60 minutes before worship and 15 minutes after the service is over)
