Designed for UofSC’s administrative professionals, this half-day conference will teach you new ways of thinking about both your personal and professional development, and how to identify opportunities to improve your skills, enhance your professionalism and increase your value to your academic or administrative unit.

Strong relationships and good communication are essential in the workplace to bring about the best results for the organization. This session is comprised of targeted discussions, true-to-life simulation activities and simple implementation strategies that can transform a workplace. Participants return to work with the honed communication and interpersonal skills necessary to cultivate an ideal environment that ensures maximum team effectiveness.

Better Living Through Laughter
Presenter: Stephen Patterson, M. Ed.

Most likely, some of your favorite memories are the ones that include laughter. Laughter is beneficial to our mental and physical health. Participants will learn how to develop a personal approach to using humor as a tool for stress management and self–care, as well as understand the power of one’s attitude in how it affects every aspect of life.

Stephen Patterson, M. Ed. is a noted speaker, trainer and author who specializes in the incorporation of humor into one’s professional and personal life. He is an author of the book, Better Living through Laughter. For over twenty-five years, Stephen has designed many programs on the value of laughter and a good sense of humor.
