Knowing how to “measure what matters” regarding team performance is essential. Good performance measures can provide critical feedback to the organization, guide decision-making and point out areas in need of improvement. Performance measurement involves determining what to measure, identifying data collection methods, and collecting the data. Evaluation involves assessing progress toward achieving performance expectations, with an eye toward explaining the relationships that exist between our activities and outcomes.
