The Grade Center is more than just a way to record students' grades. It is a dynamic and interactive tool, allowing instructors to record data, calculate grades and monitor student progress. In the Grade Center, instructors can provide and manage students' grades for a variety of assessments, including assignments, tests, discussion board posts, journals, blogs, and wikis. Faculty can also create grade columns for any activities or requirements that require grading but do not require submission through Blackboard, such as special projects, presentation, participation or attendance. Workshop participants can bring their computer or tablet to gain first-hand experience during the workshop.
Mike Brown has almost thirty years of experience in working with educational technology. From the private sector to K-12 schools, to higher education, he has developed and conducted training for end-users and instructors in a variety of operating platforms, equipment, and software systems. At the University of South Carolina he has provided assistance to faculty and students as an end-user support specialist, instructional designer, educational technology administrator, and trainer. Brown is currently with the Department of IT’s eLearning Services.
