10 Practical Approaches to Fostering Inclusion in the Classroom

An inclusive classroom is one that promotes diversity of thought and perspective based on students’ background, experiences and individual differences. In this interactive workshop, Moryah Jackson will lead a discussion on the importance of inclusivity in the classroom, share ten practical approaches that will help foster an inclusive classroom and provide resources for additional guidance.

Moryah Jackson has served in higher education for ten years advancing access, equity and opportunity. Recognized as one of the 2012 “20 under 40” emerging leaders by The State newspaper, Jackson has graduated from South Carolina Economic Development Institute, Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative and South Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program. She has studied in Prague, Czech Republic and served as a United States State Department Fellow in Maseru, Lesotho. Jackson is a doctoral candidate at the University of Florida. She earned her master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on International Affairs from the University of South Carolina and her bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs with a minor in Communications from Columbia College.
