Join Vice President for Research Prakash Nagarkatti to learn about research initiatives at the university, opportunities and challenges related to interdisciplinary research, and research resources available to faculty. Nagarkatti's presentation will be followed by an open question-and-answer session.

** Registration Procedures Update **

In order for attendees to personally track their current registrations and attendance at certificate of completion workshops and events, the Center for Teaching Excellence is now requiring that registrants create an account in our registration system and login to register for all workshops that are approved workshops for certificate of completion programs.

 

If you have an existing training account with the Division of Human Resources, Office of Organizational and Professional Development, you do not need to create an account. You can login using your HR training username and password. By logging in to register for CTE events, your complete training record for both CTE and HR trainings will be available with a single account and login.

Vice President for Research
Carolina Distinguished Professor


Prakash Nagarkatti was named the University of South Carolina's Vice President for Research in October 2011. Currently, he oversees a $243 million research enterprise across all USC campuses. He also serves as Carolina Distinguished Professor, Director of the NIH Center of Research Excellence in Inflammatory and Autoimmune Diseases and Director of the NIH COBRE Center for Dietary Supplement and Inflammation. From 2005 through 2011, he served as Associate Dean at the USC School of Medicine. Nagarkatti continues to teach and has won numerous awards nationally and internationally for teaching and scholarly activity.
